Victor E. Schimmel Memorial Nursing Scholarships

The Camden Group established the Victor E. Schimmel Memorial Nursing Scholarship fund to promote advanced education of tomorrow's leaders and nursing faculty. The Camden Group awards three scholarships a year to individuals who are currently enrolled in, or have recently been accepted to a college or university for an advanced degree. All nurse managers, directors, educators, and nursing program faculty are invited to apply.

Victor E. Schimmel, MS, MBA was a vice president at The Camden Group with overall responsibility for The Camden Group's financial planning and advisory services. With over 20 years of consulting and line management responsibility in the healthcare industry, he had advised continuing care retirement communities, congregate care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, hospitals, integrated delivery systems, and health plans on a wide range of financial issues.

Mr. Schimmel received his bachelor's degree from the City College of New York and master's degrees from the Sloan School of Management at M.I.T. (business) and Columbia University (mathematical statistics).

On December 8, 2000 Victor passed away leaving his wife Sydney and two daughters, Amelia and Joanna. In honor of our friend and colleague, the Victor E. Schimmel Memorial Nursing Scholarships were established. These scholarships are designed to support the advanced educational pursuits of nursing educators and nursing leaders.
