Mr. Van Horssen is a senior vice president with The Camden Group. He is an experienced strategic and financial advisor with extensive experience in the areas of new technology, services, and healthcare policy. He led early development of MRI business strategies and other diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. Mr. Van Horssen has a proven track record of building market-leading companies, commercializing new technologies, negotiating and managing acquisitions and divestitures, and diagnosing marketing, business development/sales, operating, and financial problems.
Prior to joining The Camden Group, Mr. Van Horssen was the chairman and managing member of The Cottonwood Group where he provided business advisory services and evaluated venture investment opportunities. He served as a strategic and financial advisor to a vast range of technology and service companies, including healthcare organizations dealing with retail care delivery models, teleradiology, PACS systems, MRI signal processing technology, molecular diagnostics, and genomics. An early participant in web-enabled B2B services, Mr. Van Horssen was founder, chairman, and CEO of eWorld Systems, a discretionary exchange platform based on proprietary architecture.
Before Mr. Van Horssen started The Cottonwood Group, he founded Mobile Technology Inc., the pioneer of mobile MRI services. Through a combination of internal growth and acquisition, MTI became the leading healthcare shared service company in the country by 1991 with operations in 40 states and Europe. The company was selected as a Baldrige National Quality Award finalist for its high standards of service and customer satisfaction. MTI was named for four consecutive years in Inc. magazine’s Inc. 500 list. He was also formerly a partner with Amherst Associates, an early leader in management consulting to hospitals as well as a pioneer of decision support systems for hospital management and planning.
