Community Health Regulatory Requirements

Community Health Needs Assessments

We can you help you prepare and submit Community Health Need Assessments (CHNAs), a new IRS requirement for non-profit healthcare facilities to demonstrate their tax-exempt status. The CHNA guidelines require that a broad qualitative and quantitative study is performed that encompasses input from private and public health entities, as well as community residents. We have developed an approach that utilizes public forums to solicit first hand input, while leveraging public information to limit the cost to providers.

Community Health Impact Reports

We have completed numerous Health Impact Reports related to the purchase/sale of healthcare organizations, addition/termination of services, and closure of facilities. We are approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the California Attorney General for these studies and have collaborated with public task forces and commissions to evaluate community impact.

Certificate of Need Applications

We have successfully prepared or defended more than 100 of Certificate of Needs (CON) applications across the country. Our multidisciplinary team assesses the impact of a variety of initiatives such as development of new or expansion of existing services, facility, and clinical equipment.
